Melancholy Melissa Marie.

Melissa Di Pasquale.

MelMarie is a girl close to my heart: She keeps my brother sweet and in line, bakes our family delicious treats, and is available for a close-up whenever I call her. She doesn't have a blog yet, otherwise I'd link it here., but I have been encouraging her to start one, so while we wait, you can follow her on twitter. Thanks MM! You're a total dolly.

Because hey, sometimes we can.

Amanda Di Pasquale.

Amanda was an awesome subject to photograph for my beauty shot (You were!). She would tell you she's not comfortable in front of the camera, but kindly agreed to my photo request anyway, and I think this photo proves otherwise. She's a beautiful girl inside and out, has gorgeous hair, and is super hilarious. Amanda has a degree in media studies and creative writing which she puts to good use over at her blog Not A Model. Go! Add her to your reader!

Smile, give your face a holiday.

My great aunt Teen.
Part-time entertainer.

The title credit is hers and there's another part to it I can't remember right now. I also can't remember the context of the quote, but when she said it I immediately laughed and loved it. What I do remember though is a cool story she told me a little while ago about being born in the bedroom of the house she and my grandfather grew up in. I have my own stories of her from growing up too, where she used to dress up fully as a clown and perform at our birthdays.
I still don't know where the water disappears to in the Styrofoam cups.

Chantel Simmons

I've been wanting to post an image from the portrait session I had this summer with Canadian author, Chantel Simmons, for months, but I've been waiting for her second novel, Love Struck, to be released in February 2010. Then the other day I thought, why wait? I personally enjoy a solid heads-up on cool things to come, so here it is, an outtake from the shoot with the lovely Chantel. Chantel has a ton of accomplishments under her belt including working at ELLE Canada, TV Guide, and Elevate to name a few, and is currently the Editorial Director at sweetspot.ca. She's also a great person, an absolute pleasure to work with, and although you wouldn't know it from this post, has the bluest eyes ever! (conveniently pictured here.)

The make-up and on-set styling for the shoot was done by the super great Emily Chaplin.

Also, I just discovered this photo that I took for the Children's Aid Foundation last spring was posted on their website. Pretty nice!

Turning over a new leaf

The other day my friend Lenny asked me if I ever take any nature shots. I rarely do, and I'm not sure if this is the kind of nature shot he meant, but I saw it and liked it enough to hang onto it and show it you. Plus, it snowed last night and I'll go kicking and screaming into winter.

George Eastman House

Interior view of the Conservatory from the second floor landing of the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY. The elephant head is a replica, but Eastman (father of Kodak) did go on a few Safari's and actually shot and killed a real one that hung in the same spot. He also had an elephant foot waste basket! A very inspiring place to visit if you're into photography, business men, or exotic taxidermy.

Re: Blonde Ambition

You definitely haven't been able to tell from the photos we've been creating lately (so so awesome), but my best friend Claudia, who is relentlessly featured on this blog, was diagnosed with breast cancer this past summer. She did a little hair revamping to prep for her upcoming treatments, and that inspired a whole bunch of new shoots to document the events.

I just want to mention that from the get go she has wanted to get involved with the cause beyond her own experience. Personally, I can't think of a better person to have around to lend a hand, an ear, or a string of words to any situation. She's the strongest. So, when she said she was guest writing for Sweetspot about her experience, I thought, heck ya, that'll be great.

I thought I'd post a larger version of one of my shots she chose to accompany the article, and I'll leave you to read on about the rest HERE.

Steph's Place.

My friend Steph is selling her place. Check it out before it's gone! I mean it.
C and I popped in to take some shots for her listing and decided that you'll probably like it and should move in as soon as you and Steph work out the details. I'm not good with details so I'll leave you guys to it.

OH, most importantly, she's actually a genius and has created a blogspot just for her private listing with a whole bunch of other shots of the sweet place at www.tower2suite1116.blogspot.com

Down by the river.

Took a trip back in time/across continents to photograph Frankie (I owe you one). He's a gorgeous guy all around so it made my first real photoshoot with a male model incredibly easy.

Be fearless (there are no boundaries or limitations...)

I didn't want to sit on this shot too long because there is a momentous energy in the air these past few days and not only do I like it, but I think it's the kind of beast that feeds on change and killer fabulousness.
